Atlas Insider: Tantalise your taste buds during London Cocktail Week

October 4, 2016

London Cocktail Week celebrates the best of the capital’s eclectic cocktail scene. Now in its seventh year, it’s a chance to tantalise your taste buds with a week of vibrant parties, top spirits and creative mixology.

Nestled right in the heart of one of London’s best areas for nightlife, The Atlas Building is ideally located to enjoy the party. Already some of our favourite haunts, we’ve picked out three of our favourite cocktail bars in Shoreditch which are participating in this year’s event.

The Cocktail Trading Company, Brick Lane

The Cocktail Trading Company is an award-winning London bar with a true passion for innovative mixology. Not only are the founders passionate about creating exciting cocktail combinations, these industry pros want to give back to the bartending community. Spice things up and try their chilli tequila, watermelon, rhubarb and rose ‘One in a Million’. And it’s not just the taste that makes these cocktails stand out; The Cocktail Trading Company use all sorts of vessels to serve up their drinks – from tin cans to wellington boots!

Nola, Rivington Street

The name Nola comes from the common abbreviation of ‘New Orleans, Louisiana’, the town from which this popular cocktail bar draws inspiration. The team has decades’ worth of bartending experience, so when ‘cocktail o’clock’ calls, you’ll be in excellent hands. Nola’s cocktails are inspired by America’s musical city, featuring peach bitters, fine Hennessy cognac, sweet sherry and vintage whiskey. Paired with a playlist of jazz, blues and rock ’n’ roll, nights are sure to be Louisiana long at Nola.

Hawksmoor Bar, Spitalfields

The Hawksmoor is no ordinary basement bar – sunk beneath the streets of Shoreditch sits a buzzing cocktail bar, gleaming with copper surfaces and glimmering antique glassware. Hawksmoor Bar certainly has a retro feel but this hotspot is more than just good looks. The unusual cocktails served here are some of London’s best, featuring unusual homemade bitters, shrubs and fruity syrups. The food is also outstanding – think lobster rolls and cheesy poutine – so, even if you’re all cocktailed-out, there’s plenty to keep you at the bar.
